 Details
The RSPB and the SITA Environmental Trust 'Real Rubbish Garden' concentrated heavily on 'green' as well as 'wildlife' gardening - making imaginative use of a wide range of re-used and recycled materials. The Wildlife Trusts' Lush Garden (sponsored by Lush Cosmetics) had a more traditional feel, but was equally 'green' and, of course, wildlife friendly. This is the first year the Wildlife Trusts have exhibited in the 'show garden' category - having won silver medals in the 'courtyard garden' category in the previous two years.

Having seen both these magnificent gardens at the show myself, I can only marvel at the standards set by the RHS; I wonder just what it takes to get a silver gilt or gold medal. (Or is it possible that when it comes to environmentally sympathetic gardening, the RHS don't really 'get it' yet?)
